The Malaysia Smart Manufacturing Awards (MSMA) 2025 honoured 27 trailblazing Malaysian manufacturers and tech providers, recognising their role in driving the country’s digital and smart manufacturing revolution.
The ceremony, held on Dec 1 at Menara MATRADE, celebrated the winners for setting benchmarks in innovation, efficiency and sustainable practices.
Now in its second edition, MSMA 2025 is a public-private initiative jointly organised by the Malaysian Industrial Development Finance Bhd (MIDF) and Bizsphere Sdn Bhd, in collaboration with Smart4WRD, a community network representing Malaysia’s smart manufacturing ecosystem, and is supported by the Investment, Trade and Industry Ministry.
The awards celebrate local manufacturers that have successfully embraced smart technologies and innovative practices, helping them expand into new markets and integrate into global supply chains.
This year, 36 nominations were received across four main categories: Smart SME, Smart Mid-Tier, Technology Excellence (for local tech solution providers) and People Excellence, with 27 winners selected for their excellence in digital transformation, operational efficiency and sustainable innovation.
The participation of local technology solution providers in MSMA 2025 underscores the nation’s growing capabilities in technology innovation, with many Malaysian firms now offering solutions that rival or surpass international standards, boosting Malaysia’s competitiveness in the global manufacturing landscape.
MIDF Chairman Tan Sri Abdul Rahman Mamat highlighted that the awards go beyond recognition, “Through MSMA 2025, we are not only acknowledging achievements but also building momentum for continuous improvement within the manufacturing sector. By empowering local manufacturers to innovate and adopt smart technologies, we strengthen the foundation of Malaysia’s industrial ecosystem and support our national aspiration of establishing 3,000 smart factories by 2030.”
The MSMA initiative continues to serve as a collaborative platform between the public and private sectors, encouraging knowledge exchange, fostering innovation, and promoting the adoption of smart manufacturing practices across industries, cementing Malaysia’s path toward a high-tech, sustainable manufacturing future.
